Dear Editor,
The finance committee here at Utmost United Methodist Church is fuming over the ongoing costs of upgrading our technology. Not long ago much of the wiring of the church had to be replaced because of extra power drain in the older part of the building. This was a huge expense.
The financial software needed to be replaced twice recently, due to some poor advice, because of seeking the cheaper programs. This came on the heels of computer operating systems having become outdated, if not obsolete.
Will Notley said, "I always said that we had better not try to get into this computer stuff; it will just cost more and more. Now we see that I was right!"
Mr I. C. Clearly said, "Computers are not a fad. Look at how this world has changed in the past two decades – you know, when you were a Steward. The reality is that we can no longer live the way we used to. Even your telephone and other utilities don’t operate the way they did 10 years ago."
Our pastor, Rev. Mostly Wright, said, "Longing for the past is futile. Let’s discover how we can effectively be in ministry now."
Until next time...
