ENCOUNTER YOUTH RETREAT

NOVEMBER 17-19, 2017                                             EPWORTH BY THE SEA

THE FOCUS

Encounter is a weekend retreat designed for 6th - 12th grade students where everyone will ENCOUNTER God, and each in a very unique way. This retreat will offer passionate worship, relevant Bible study and a meaningful time with other teens at Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island. In John 14:6, Jesus tells us, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." What if we use this ONE life we've been given to live unashamedly for the ONE and only true God? What if we worship unashamedly the ONE who redeemed us? What if we show others the ONE way to eternal life? What if God showed up and changed ONE life...yours?

WEEKEND LEADERSHIP

SPEAKER:

Jarrid Wilson is a husband, dad, speaker, best-selling author and inspirational blogger.

His articles have been viewed by tens-of-millions, showcased on some of today’s hottest talk shows, and featured on national news stations worldwide. He is a dynamic speaker whose outside-the-box perspectives have gained him national recognition from some of today’s most influential Christian leaders and pastors.

His highly unconventional way of sharing faith takes a fresh look at the way Jesus would call individuals to live out their everyday lives. Unafraid to tackle tough and controversial topics, Jarrid is known for his refreshing perspectives on what others may view as set in black and white. His blog is one of the most talked about faith-based blogs on the web, and his dedication to use social media for the sake of that faith has been paramount to his success as a writer.

Jarrid and his wife Juli live in Nashville, Tennessee with their son, Finch and dog, Eloise.

His newest book entitled, “Jesus Swagger” is now available worldwide.

WORSHIP LEADER:

Charlie Judd is no stranger to events at Epworth By The Sea. As a counselor for Camp Connect during his college years, Charlie honed his worship gifts and eventually went to Colorado Springs for worship school. With a background in both youth and worship ministry, Charlie came back to Camp Connect in the summer of 2017 to train and lead the summer worship team. Charlie brings a passion to see young people experience God through worship, ultimately leading to a changed life.

Charlie and his wife Stephanie live on St. Simons Island where she teaches middle school and he is studying for an additional degree in Speech Pathology.

EMCEE:

Erica Sergeant may be a pole vaulter by day, but we've heard at night she can leap over mountains in a single bound. Super Girl? Wonder Woman? Flying purple people eater? Yes! (ok maybe not that last one). Erica is a student at Kennesaw State University where she literally leaps over high things for fun...and to keep her scholarship. She was one of the speakers at High School Camp this summer and God used her voice and her testimony to change lives in a powerful, jaw dropping way. She's funny, strong and a friend to all so it's no surprise Erica will be setting the stage for our worship sessions during Encounter.

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?!?

Saturday just got a whole lot more fun! Game time on the Brown Center Field with Knockerball, GaGa Ball and more!

ONE WAY IN...

And the fun won't stop at night! After everything is over, we'll have 4 escape rooms set up, sending groups through for an intense, 15 minute puzzle-solving game. The clues are there for you to find. Can you strategize with your team and make it out in time?

ONE WAY OUT...
