ENCOUNTER YOUTH RETREAT : "BREAK OUT"
NOVEMBER 18-20, 2016
Encounter is a weekend retreat designed for 6th - 12th grade students where everyone will ENCOUNTER God, but each in a very unique way. This retreat will offer passionate worship, relevant Bible study and a fun time together at Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island.
Online registration is now OPEN.
Registrations will be pending until full payment is received. Cost is $130 per person (youth & chaperones). Payment is required within 7 days of registering and $35 of the registration fee is non-refundable. Churches will register as a group and fill out individual camper's information within the same registration.
If your group needs individual information forms to be filled out by each student and returned to your church's retreat coordinator, that form can be found here.
Rev. Jonathan Smith, Director of the Wesley Foundation at Georgia Southern University will be the speaker for Encounter. Jonathan shared at Camp Connect's middle school camp and continues to lead college students on a weekly basis. His ability to reach so many different ages with the truth of the Gospel is evident in his style of speaking. Jonathan is married to Stephanie and together they have two beautiful daughters.
Gracie Boatright leads the worship team at the College of Coastal Georgia's Wesley Foundation, as well as one of the campuses at The Chapel in Brunswick. Gracie has been singing since she was a toddler and uses her God-given gift to lead others into a deeper relationship with Christ. Gracie is engaged to Carson (and can't wait until New Year's Eve to marry him!) and has 3 adorable puppies - Zeus, Zoey and Napoleon.
You never know what character is going to show up when Brandon Rushin comes to emcee an event, but you know it will be one that leaves you in stitches! Brandon is a fixture at South Georgia events because of his ability to engage audiences of all ages. His booming presence (yes, he's tall enough to reach the ceiling without jumping) and full-of-surprises stage time keeps students on the edge of their seats (or underneath if they've fallen over from laughing!). Brandon is married to Cindy and has 2 awesome teenagers.
Click here for a pdf of last year's Adult Leaders Guide as an example. Everything you want to know about the schedule, church time, free time and a few surprises! This will be available at check-in.
SAFE SANCTUARIES COMPLIANCE
Adult chaperones are provided by each church group attending. Counselors must be 21 or older with a 1:6 ratio for counselor/youth. Both male and female counselors must be in attendance if both genders are represented with students. Click here to download the Safe Sanctuaries form. Only one form per church group is needed and this can be turned in at registration.
The cost is $130 per person which includes lodging, meals, insurance and a t-shirt.
Participants at ENCOUNTER will be sleeping in the cabins at Epworth By The Sea. All beds are twin size. Participants will need to bring their own bed linens and towels (see a recommended list of What to Pack). In most cases, multiple church groups will be assigned to each cabin.
