Mark your calendars for the 2010 Older Adult Retreat, “Enduring Faith – A Heart of Wisdom,” set for April 12-14, 2010, at Epworth By The Sea. The South Georgia Conference Older Adult Retreat is an exciting retreat that offers senior adults an opportunity to discover, develop, and fulfill their God-given purpose. This year’s retreat will focus on Psalm 136 and Psalm 90. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Jim Rush and leading the bible study sessions will be Dr. Evelyn Laycock. Since worship and spiritual growth are the main focus of this retreat, participants are able to totally immerse themselves in the atmosphere and become spiritually renewed. There will also be a professional tract offered for those interested in receiving continuing education credit or who are simply interested in leading life changing older adult ministries within their congregation. These classes will be taught by the Rev. Dr. Rick Gentzler, the director of the Center on Aging and Older-Adult Ministries for the General Board of Discipleship for the United Methodist Church.
