Epworth Winter Camp Meeting
"Let The Redeemed Say So"
January 27-30, 2013
Epworth By The Sea
St. Simons Island, Georgia

Plans are in place for four days and three evenings filled with fantastic preaching, unique Bible studies, inspiring music and Christian fellowship with old friends and new.  It's Winter Camp Meeting time at Epworth By The Sea.

Winter Camp Meeting is one of Epworth's oldest and most popular gatherings.  For over 60 years, the world's most outstanding preachers, teachers and musicians have come together in "God's Place" to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ, bring spiritual renewal and help us all face the morning with assurance that God is with us!

Brochure and online registration will be available in the coming weeks at www.epworthbythesea.org.  In the meantime, go ahead and mark January 27-30, 2013 on your calendar for Winter Camp Meeting.

The Bishop's Hour
Bishop James R. King, Jr.

Bishop James R. King, Jr. will open Winter Camp Meeting with the traditional "Bishop's Hour" on Sunday evening.  Returning as the Episcopal Leader of the South Georgia Conference to serve a second quadrennium, he is deeply committed to Making Disciples for Jesus Christ.

An outstanding preacher and highly regarded administrator, he is known for encouraging both lay and clergy to face challenges and seek opportunities to serve the Lord in their churches and communities. He is a thoughtful and insightful mentor to pastors and concerned friend to everyone he meets.

An ardent supporter of Epworth's ministry, he proposed the Board of Trustees establish a program which would name a member of each congregation in the South Georgia Conference as an Epworth Ambassador. Launched in 2012, the program is bringing creative support from more than 150 churches.  In its second year, the Epworth Ambassadors program is enjoying tremendous success.

Bishop King has personally experienced the love of Jesus Christ and knows how to share what God has done for him.

Guest Preacher
Dr. H. Eddie Fox

The Rev. Dr. Eddie Fox says, "God has raised up the Methodist movement, 70 million people in 130 countries around the world, not for its own sake, but for the world's sake." He will preach for all morning and evening services beginning Monday, Jan. 27-Wed., Jan 30, 2013.

He preaches to World Evangelism missions, teaches and encourages lay and clergy to be about the ministry of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.  Author of several books, he co-authored with George E. Morris the best-selling resources for Christian witnessing: Faith-Sharing, Let the Redeemed of the Lord, SAY SO!, and The Faith-Sharing New Testament With Psalms.

Often called the "best known Methodist evangelist in the World" he has preached in 75 countries and throughout the United States.  A regular faculty member of the Billy Graham Schools of Evangelism, he has enabled, equipped and encouraged thousands of pastors from more than one hundred denominations to be about the task of evangelization.

Bible Study Teacher
Rev. Herchel H. Sheets

The Rev. Dr. Herchel Sheets, author and retired pastor with over 60 years in ministry in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church will lead the morning Bible studies.

Author of 10 books and numerous articles, he is best known in South Georgia for his 37 years as the writer of the weekly Sunday School lesson for the Wesleyan Christian Advocate.  An adjunct professor at Emory University's Candler School of Theology and the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, he has served as Assistant to the Bishop and Director of Ministerial Services, annual conference program director, district superintendent and pastor for the NGA Conference.

He continues to write, teach, preach and train the next generation of Christian disciples.  Presently, he is writing a series of 45 to 50 articles reflecting on "God at our every point of need."

Worship Leader
Rev. Tony Crosby

The Rev. Tony Crosby is a gifted musician and pastor of the Alma/Elizabeth Charge of the United Methodist Church in the Waycross District.  He can "tear up a piano" and sing the way we like it at Winter Camp Meeting.  Imagine how much Tony's music will add to our worship experiences and you will not want to miss a minute!  Area choirs will add that special touch to the evening services.
