Equip yourself for effective ministry with Pathways to a Healthy Church
Churches looking for new ideas, networking opportunities and practical, quality training for their pastors, parishioners, staff and leaders need look no further than this year’s Pathways to a Healthy Church conference.
Scheduled for Saturday, August 14 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Warner Robins, the training event will offer participants more than 40 workshops, plus six all-day workshops, to choose from, each designed to help congregations become healthier and to fulfill the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.
“Pathways to a Healthy Church has become a much anticipated annual training event because of the high quality, very practical presentations by a faculty with an established record of fruitful ministry,” said Dr. Brad Brady, Assistant to the Bishop for Connectional Ministries. “Each workshop will stimulate leaders to gain new understandings and to explore fresh opportunities that will expand the disciple-making capacity of their local church.
“It is the prayer of the Connectional Ministries Council that those who attend this day of training will be stimulated with new ideas that will work in their ministry setting, recommitted to their role as spiritual leaders, and empowered to go forth to offer vision-driven leadership,” he said.
The training, which starts at 9:45 a.m. and lasts until 3:30 p.m., features workshops on a variety of subjects, from children and youth-focused workshops to spiritual discipline workshops to those focused on ministering to older adults. Classes include “A Blueprint for Discipleship,” “The Bible for the Rest of Us,” and “Sowing the Word,” among many others. The day will begin with a teaching session for all participants with Bishop James King.
The design team urges local church leaders to carpool to the event to minimize travel costs and to maximize the benefits of the day by continuing the learning conversation during the return trip.

A boxed lunch from Chick-fil-A is included in the registration fee. Safe Sanctuaries compliant childcare is available for newborn to 5th grade children at a cost of $3 per child, which covers the cost of their lunch.
