Disaster Response Needs

A Special Place called Sager Brown

Each year, more than 2,800 people volunteer at UMCOR Sager Brown in Baldwin, Louisiana. They assist the Depot by processing tons of disaster relief supplies which are then shipped to national and international destinations. The shipments include hundreds of thousands of health kits, school kits, sewing kits, layette kits, flood buckets, mops and brooms, generators, bedding, blankets, and various other items depending on need.

Volunteers also help distribute boxes of food in the "Food for Seniors" program, rehabilitate houses, assist in public schools, sew in the USB sewing room, maintain the USB campus, and enjoy cultural events from the 'Cajun Coast' of South Louisiana.
