DISASTER RESPONSE CASE MANAGEMENT TRAINING

The case management training is a two day event, which includes 14 hours of intense training, in addition to four hours of training for CAN. The CAN portion of the training is done immediately following the conclusion of the case management training.
There will be two training events – the first one will be conducted on July 18-19. The second training event will be conducted July 21-22. Both of these events will be at the Vineville United Methodist Church on Vineville Avenue.
Participants must understand that for them to be certified to do case management work, they must attend all of the sessions. Those who are being trained to do CAN will need access to a laptop computer during training. It is not necessary for each student to have a laptop, two can pair and work together during the CAN training. For the CAN training, access to wireless internet is necessary. The Vineville church has wireless capability. Participant's laptop must be able to login.
The trainer for both training events will be Rick Hill, UMCOR Disaster Consultant. He is a veteran of the Katrina response, and he is very capable to lead us in our training.
Each event will be limited to thirty (30) people. It is vital, due to the size and scope of our recovery work in Macon/Bibb, that we have 30 people in each session.
There is no cost for the training event, but participants will be given the chance to help with the cost of the meals at Vineville.
REGISTRATION
Persons interested in participating in the Disaster Response Case Management Training are asked to register online for one of the two events by clicking on the link below. Please note that there is no cost for this training. However, participants will be asked to help cover the cost of their meals at the event. The deadline for registration for both events is Wednesday, July 16 .
