The United Methodist Men Spring Retreat is set for April 20-22, 2007, at Epworth By The Sea under the theme “Kingdom Builders – God Using UMM in Building His Kingdom.”

Chris Buskirk, pastor of Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK, will be the keynote speaker. After years in youth ministry, Chris' first appointment was a small church in North Georgia that more than doubled in the 5 years he was there.  He then served for two years at Tulsa First UMC as an associate minister in charge of small group development.  He was then appointed to First UMC Houston to lead a staff of 9 at its newly established suburban campus and be the primary preaching associate to the senior pastor.  Managing growth in small groups, preaching in premier pulpits, and leading staff through growth and major building campaigns have all prepared Chris for  his current assignment: to birth the newest United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Abiding Harvest.

Along with Chris' leadership will be Frank Lowrey and Carl Tott who will lead the music once again this year.

Added to this year's retreat is a fundraising golf tournament scheduled for Friday at noon at Coastal Pines Golf Club in Brunswick (see below for details). Make plans now to bring a group of men from your church. See your UMM president for more information.
