We sometimes misunderstand the Bible when certain verses are taken out of context. To help avoid this, Rev. Bernie Khaw has led small groups more than 10 times to study the Bible in its wholeness. Upon going into retirement from his extension ministry at Thiells Garnerville UMC (Greater NJ Annual Conference), he continues to pursue this passion, but this time it will be in an online format.
The study will take 24 weeks (three 8-week sessions) based on the Covenant Bible Study (see www.covenantbiblestudy.com
). Session 1 looks at what the Bible tells us about God creating the Covenant, Session 2 about our living the Covenant, and Session 3 about trusting it.
You will probably spend up to 30 minutes a day reading and journaling. You will need: The participant's guide book (cokesbury.com
sells the paperback version for less than $30), a study Bible (preferably CEB), and a reliable wifi connection for the weekly online meeting (60-90 min.).
The first (online) meeting will be held Sunday October 7, 2018 at 7:30 pm. The group will meet online weekly after that. There will be breaks between sessions to allow for Christmas and Easter.
Please email Rev. Bernie Khaw at firstname.lastname@example.org
if you are interested in joining the study.
