Mrs. Jeanette Bittner

Mrs. Jeanette Bittner, 93, of Poulan went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2016. 

The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Poulan United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Holt officiated. 

Mrs. Bittner was born on December 31, 1922, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Adrian and Dena Snell VanderGiessen. She was a retired school teacher who loved to draw and spend time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Bittner enjoyed playing the piano and organ at church and in nursing homes for the residents. She enjoyed traveling and had been to Haiti while doing missionary work for the Lord. Mrs. Bittner was a faithful member of the Poulan United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Ray Bittner of Poulan; children, Karen Woods (Donnie Basko) of Sylvester; Linda Aultman (Bruce) of Florence, CO; Calvin Bittner (Renee) of Vermont; Debbie Hiles of Charlotte, NC; and Janice Poston (Rick) of Warner Robins; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
