Rev. J.D. Corbitt

The Rev. Jefferson Davis “J.D.” Corbitt, Jr., 87, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at his residence. Rev. Corbitt was a Georgia Southern graduate and avid fan. He received his B.D. from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He served as a Methodist minister in the South Georgia Conference for 41 plus years. Rev. Corbitt was a World War II US Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Corbitt. Survivors include his wife, Lounell “Lucy” Brown Corbitt; two sons, Jeffery D. Corbitt and Wesley M. Corbitt (Pam); three grandchildren, Benjamin Corbitt (Megg), Nathan Corbitt (Melissa), and Amy West (Dr. Jonathan); two great-grandchildren, Sean and Ethan; and two sisters.
