On September 18, 1982, the Rev. Wansik Joo was appointed as the first pastor of Hinesville/Savannah Korean UMC. In 1988, the Savannah-Hinesville Charge was formed. The Savannah congregation met at Isle of Hope UMC until 1994 when they started meeting at St. Luke UMC. In May 1993, the property was purchased on Whitefield Road and construction started on a church building. In June 1994, the church became a station church with Rev. Won Kyung Yoon as pastor. The first service in the new building was May 29, 1995. The new pastor, Rev. Issac Moon, educated at Candler School of Theology at Emory, preached bilingual services and the church held English speaking revivals each year. During the early 2000s, the church held church lunches after Sunday services, did Bible studies in both Korean and English, and held Morning Prayer meetings.
