In 1890, Mr. J.W. Warren gave land for a church. By 1893, a church and Sunday school of fifty members had been organized and a building had been erected. Rev. E.M. Wright was the pastor in 1895. In 1904, a winter storm partially destroyed the building, and the following winter another storm completed the destruction. The present white frame building was erected in 1906, but its bell is from the original church. Dexter, located twelve miles west of Dublin, was earlier part of the Empire charge and from 1895 to 1905, in the McRae District. In 1909, Mrs. H.I. King founded the Church Aid Society which is now the church UMW.
The Educational Building was built during the late 1950s and enlarged during the early 1960s
. During the 1970s, the church women held the Young at Hearts Club and sponsored a Volunteer Group which made monthly visits to the VA Center. The church also had a strong MYF program and a youth choir.
