This church was organized in 1872, two miles from the present location. The original building was moved to this site but
destroyed by a tornado in April 1957. The present building was then built. This church was for many years on the Oglethorpe-Ideal Charge but in 1981, it was placed with Ellaville as a charge.
Recently, a metal roof was added, the walls were painted and the carpet was installed in the social hall and Sunday school classrooms, and the kitchen was remodeled. A community-wide Easter egg hunt with a cookout following
and fish fries for members and for the community have been added to the list of activities. The children's participation has greatly increased with children's church every Sunday morning, children's Sunday school, and Wednesday afternoon programs offered. A new heat pump has replaced the former gas heaters in the sanctuary and a new water well was dug. There is also a church sign which was built for the front of the site.
