The Baxley First United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time choir director to lead our adult choir and develop a children’s choir program.  

Duties would include:  

• -Selecting hymns and special music in coordination with pastor’s planned sermon topics; 

• -Meeting with pastor as required to review music program;  

• -Meeting with pianist weekly to review upcoming music; 

• -Meeting with adult choir weekly for one-hour practice; 

• -Meeting with children’s choir and volunteer leaders weekly for one-hour practice; 

• -Leading choir and acting as song leader for 11 a.m. Sunday morning worship service;

• -Planning and leading special music events for Christmas and Easter services at a time other than Sunday morning worship (mini-cantatas or community song services, not elaborate productions). 

Salary commensurate with time involved, to be negotiated with Staff/Parish Relations Committee.
