]]Director of Children’s Ministry (Priority) AND Director of Contemporary Worship OR Director of Evangelism and Communication Full-Time (40 Hours Weekly) Position Summary: Director of Children’s Ministry: Design, develop and execute all aspects of Children’s ministry from birth to 5th grade (Faith Quest) within Clarkesville First United Methodist Church. Director will be responsible for the managing and scheduling of all paid and volunteer nursery staff ensuring complete excellence in the love, care and spiritual growth of the children . Director of Contemporary Worship: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of the entire worship experience within the church for the weekend contemporary worship service. Director of Evangelism and Communication: Design, develop and execute three main areas: Evangelism and reaching new members; Member assimilation and spiritual gift development and Communication and publicity. General Duties: Director of Children’s Ministry • Strong Commitment to excellence and sold out to the mission, purpose and vision of Clarkesville First United Methodist Church and the UMC Discipline • Develop and Manage all paid and volunteer weekend nursery staff • Provide guidance and direction in all aspects of Children’s ministry (Faith Quest). • Ensure appropriate child to staff/leader ratio is within acceptable limits at all times • Provide appropriate and up-to-date security and safety measures for all components of weekend nursery and Children’s ministry (Faith Quest). • Provide a loving and Christian educational environment that leads the children to discovering and developing a real relationship with Jesus • Assist in identifying, recruiting, training and retaining volunteers within the children’s ministry (Faith Quest). • Educate and promote to the church community the opportunities, purpose, and importance of Children’s ministry • To maintain a yearly Children’s Events Calendar to be updated quarterly and promote these events through various church communications • Attend weekly staff meetings as needed • Offer complete support and trust to entire church staff promoting an environment of “oneness” all working together towards the same ultimate goal of life transformation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ • Develop an annual budget and management to ensure spending stays within the parameters of financial planning including the management of accounts receivable and accounts payable within your ministry area • Direct all Family Ministry Events: Wednesday Nights, Children’s Church on Sunday mornings, Easter Egg Hunt, VBS, Fall Festival, Christmas Activities and Summer Programs. • Ensure church’s Safe Sanctuaries policies are adhered to at all times to protect the safety of the children Director of Contemporary Worship • Sets the playlist each week under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Senior Pastor • Schedule and lead band practice every week • Lead worship on Sunday mornings • Provide opportunities for others to Lead and Co-Lead worship on Sunday mornings • Outline, as best as possible, each set list of a series going into the first week of the series • Participate in Creative Arts meetings on a weekly basis to contribute and lend insights concerning music, graphics, videos, and sermons • Create Tech Guide for each Sunday Morning Experience • Maintain, upkeep, and upgrade all sound equipment in collaboration with the Sound Tech. • Identify, recruit, train and retain volunteers for worship team ensuring adequate depth and training in all key areas • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to capably run the tech booth each week • Create video and visual content at request of and in collaboration with the Creative Arts Team for the Sunday morning worship experience • Maintain, upkeep, and upgrade video screens and projectors for the Sunday Morning worship experience in collaboration with the Sound and Video Tech • Schedule and lead band practice for the Youth band every week. • Identify, recruit, train and retain volunteers for the youth worship team ensuring adequate depth and training in all key areas • Work with Senior Pastor to develop a budget for the contemporary service. Ensure spending within your area stays within the parameters of financial planning including the management of accounts receivable and accounts payable • Other duties as assigned • Attend weekly staff meetings • Offer complete support and trust to entire church staff promoting an environment of ‘oneness’ all working together towards the same ultimate goal of life transformation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Director of Evangelism and Communications • Evangelism and reaching new members • Develops plan to publicize and promote the church • Develops a method of discovering new prospects/new residents • Organizes classes/seminars on what membership means • Manages the system of follow up to guests • Develops and manages witnessing program to the lost • Member assimilation and spiritual gift development • Develops and manages a new member orientation program • Helps make sure there is a follow-up once people have joined • Connects new and existing members to the various groups and ministries • Helps both new and existing members discover their spiritual gifts • Plans seminars and training events for volunteers • Communications and publicity • Oversees the entire process of communicating all activities and events • Enhances and expands our existing systems of communication • Develops multiple forms of social media for communication • Develops and manages publicity and news releases • Develops and manages both ongoing and special advertising campaigns • This person should know that he/she is expected to become involved with the Clarkesville Downtown Development Authority and the Habersham Chamber of Commerce • Coordinate regular communication through radio programming and written pieces for the local newspaper and online publications, such as Now Habersham • Has an outgoing personality which allows him/her to meet the public easily Required Skills and Abilities: • High School Graduate • Attended at least 2 years of College • Genuine and contagious heart for God • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent public relations demeanor • Positive can-do attitude • Detail oriented • Ability to be strategic and prioritize personal duties along with the duties of the volunteer staff with confidence with very limited guidance • Ability to work under tight timeframes in stressful situations • Strong love and understanding of all children • Satisfy requirements of Safe Sanctuary Certification • Experience with children ministry • Experience with leading a contemporary service • Knowledge of Web design, Excel, Word and internet explorer applications • Experience using multiple components of Social Media ( ie Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) in a work environment
