Pine Forest UMC Director of Youth Ministries
The Director of Youth Ministries is a full time salaried position. The position is a fluctuating work week based upon 40 hours weekly. The DYM is responsible to the Staff Parish Relations Committee and reports to the Senior Pastor.

General Statement of Job:
Develops, manages and implements an effective Youth Ministry (6th - 12 grade, except music) working together with staff, parents and volunteers. A teacher with strong knowledge and witness of Biblical practices through personal character, ethical behavior, spiritual behavior and spiritual commitment. The core mission is to build relationships with youth, helping them through times of struggle and challenging them to study, know Christ and be a positive witness for Him.

Specific Duties/Skills/Responsibilities
Teach and ensure all youth activities are well planned and fully staffed.
Communicate effectively with staff, youth, parents and volunteers. 
Collaborate with a variety of people and groups and enjoy working with others.
Understand and evolve with youth dynamics, culture and technology.
Demonstrate passion for ministry with a high level of energy.
Develop strategies, implement programs emphasizing discipleship, spiritual knowledge and missions, and traditional Methodist theology and doctrine.
Select age-appropriate materials, teaching and programming. Examples include: Youth Fellowship (UMYF), Bible Studies, Sunday School, Mission Trips, Youth Worship, Accountability Groups, Prayer Breakfast, Additional Study Groups.
Secure budget requests, authorizing spending and monitor progress throughout the year.
Participate in meetings, worship and congregational development.
Encourage active participation in programming and recruit members and volunteers.
Serve as an approachable mentor, counselor, friend and advocate for youth.
Provide a support system for parents of youth and volunteers.
Promote ecumenical activities with other churches in the area.
Participate in ongoing Continuing Educational Programing.
Create healthy relationships as an engaged member of the church body of PFUMC.
Comply fully with the safe sanctuary standards.
Transition upcoming youth coordinating with Director of Children's Ministries.
Lead confirmation classes in coordination with the Senior Pastor.
Active vital part of the ministering team at PFUMC. Open communication with staff working toward the betterment of the church as a whole.

Christian Code of Conduct: Committed and professing Christian that believes themselves to be specifically called by God to serve in ministry at PFUMC. Staff is a representative of Jesus Christ and PFUMC in the community and beyond and are accountable to standards of conduct.
