Youth Director, Eufaula FUMC, AL

The First United Methodist Church in Eufaula, Alabama is seeking a full time Director of Youth Ministries.
The successful candidate may have 3 or more years of experience and a bachelor’s degree or an educational/experiential equivalent. They will strategically plan and implement ministry activities for our children and youth including: Sunday School, Elevate (Sunday Night youth), TMD (Tuesday Morning Devotion), Wednesday Night Bible Study, Retreats and Mission trips, Vacation Bible School, Children’s mission camps, and other strategic programs and activities as it falls in line with the mission and vision of the church. They will be flexible and accommodating, as well as integrated in the Eufaula community. This person will love people, connect them to Jesus, and serve the world. This primary goal of this position is to connect youth to Jesus. In addition to what is noted above, this person is responsible for the following:

• Oversee and coordinate youth discipleship for middle school and high school age youth.
• Lead gatherings for youth that currently are offered on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings.
• Build relationships with youth within and outside of the church to help them in their relationship with God.
• Plan and offer retreats, outings and events for youth to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. This includes booking, financial administration, transportation, recruiting volunteers, and promotion.
• Recruit and train volunteers/interns to help facilitate ministry to youth at FUMC Eufaula. Ensure that they are equipped, empowered and appreciated.
• Support youth engagement in worship and other ministries of the church.
• Be available for pastoral support in consultation with lead pastor. This may include preaching, pastoral care, worship leadership, and other pastoral duties as needed, but noted on a limited basis.
• Envision and maintain a facility environment that is inviting to youth.
