Bishop David Graves has announced that the 2022 South Georgia Clergy Session will take place in two parts. Based on feedback from the 2020 and 2021 virtual clergy sessions, we heard that being able to take care of some business items ahead of an in-person session would be helpful. Additionally, as this will be the first time we have been in-person in three years, time has also been set aside while we are in Columbus to allow for both business and fellowship during a second part of the clergy session.
Part 1 of the clergy session will be held Sunday, May 22, from 4 pm - 6 pm via Zoom Webinar.
The link to attendees and unique, voter ID numbers for those able to vote during the clergy session were sent via email on Monday, May 16. Please contact Dr. Jay Harris if you did not receive yours.
Part 2 of the clergy session will be held Monday, June 6 (in person) during the Annual Conference session in Columbus.
An electronic voting training session will be held online via Zoom webinar on Tuesday, May 17 at 6 pm. The link to the training will be delivered to voting members.
Who can attend and who can vote?
As a reminder, all clergy members of the annual conference and the lay members of the SGA Conference Board of Ordained Ministry may attend the clergy session. However, The Book of Discipline stipulates that only Full Clergy Members (active or retired Elders and Deacons) and Lay Members of the Board of Ordained Ministry may vote on the conference relations of clergy, which is the normal business of the clergy session.
