Via Zoom, 8 am - 12 noon
If your early response team (ERT) credentials have expired and you have not been able to renew because of COVID, UMCOR has waived all credentials from November 2019 through December 2021. In order to move forward in the credentialing process, UMCOR has now deployed an online recertification course to help you update your ERT credentials. Luis Morales, disaster response coordinator, will be hosting two, four-hour online classes. You only have to attend one of them to renew for another three years. They will be Saturday November 13 and December 11.
There are some caveats. The online textbook is different from the hardcover one. You are responsible for downloading the textbook. There is a test at the end (just like in the face-face class). You still require an UMCOR background check (free of cost to you), and you will need to provide a new photo. Details of all these requirements are sent when you register.
Again, if your ERT credentials expired between November 2019 and December 2021, you have to attend one of these two four-hour classes to recertify. Beginning January 2022, you will have to attend a full basic ERT class to recertify.
