Ministry Highlight Video
Ministry highlight video helps share good work of mission agencies
The faithful people of the South Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church are engaging in mission and ministry throughout the South Georgia area and beyond. Through the Conference’s mission agencies and backed by the care, generosity, support, and love of thousands of United Methodists, lives are being touched and changed in the name of Jesus Christ.
To help tell the stories and share the impact of these ministries, the Office of Connectional Ministries has produced a 12-minute video highlighting how each of the mission agencies are reaching out and serving those in need.
The video can be played on a computer, laptop, or any device with Internet capability. It was designed for use in multiple settings, including Wednesday night supper programs, special mission emphasis services, and much more.
“This video is a great resource for our local churches,” said Allison Lindsey, associate director of Connectional Ministries. “It allows our members to see the connection at work and the difference these agencies are making in the lives of others by sharing the love of Christ. Their needs are great, and members of our Conference have always supported them generously. It’s important that we make people aware of the opportunities they have to partner with them in their work; when they do, blessings flow.”
Lindsey noted that the agencies would also welcome invitations and opportunities to visit local churches to share their stories and ministries.
During the video, which highlights the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, Open Door Community House, Magnolia Manor, Epworth By The Sea, the Georgia United Methodist Foundation, the Georgia UM Commission on Higher Education and Campus Ministry, Vashti, Wesley Community Centers, and Wesley Glen, the mission agencies share their ministry, mission and who they serve; how their ministries are having an impact for the kingdom; and how they can be supported.
