At the 2019 Annual Conference Session, Rev. Tyler Plaxico, senior pastor at Dublin First United Methodist Church, will be appointed to serve as the President and CEO of Wesley Glen Ministries. This announcement was made by the Wesley Glen Board, in consultation with Bishop Lawson Bryan and the Cabinet.
Wesley Glen Ministries, located in Macon, Ga., is an agency of the South Georgia Conference dedicated to serving adults with developmental disabilities.
“We are extremely grateful for the current strength and stability we are experiencing at Wesley Glen Ministries,” said Mrs. Patricia M. Beeber, Wesley Glen Board Chair. “And we are excited as we anticipate further growth and development in our future under the capable and trusted leadership of Rev. Tyler Plaxico.”
While the Bishop and Cabinet intend to release appointments on April 7, announcing this extension ministry appointment early gives Wesley Glen the flexibility it needs to prepare for this transition. Rev. Plaxico succeeds Mrs. Kathy McCollum, who has served Wesley Glen for nearly three years.
Bishop Bryan and the Appointive Cabinet are grateful to South Georgia’s laity and clergy for their ongoing prayer support during this time of discernment around appointment making for the conference’s churches and clergy.
As they were last year, appointments will be released at the same time, to local churches on April 7 and later that afternoon to the public, via the Conference website.
All appointments are considered firm projections pending the official announcement at the conclusion of the Annual Conference session on June 5, in Columbus.
