Just as Georgia and Alabama share the Chattahoochee River, they will soon share an episcopal leader.
In a new video, Bishop R. Lawson Bryan, who will retire this September, introduced Bishop David Graves, who serves as bishop of the Alabama-West Florida Conference. Upon Bishop Bryan’s retirement and during the approximate 16-month interim, Bishop Graves will provide episcopal leadership to both the South Georgia and the Alabama-West Florida Conferences.
Winning people to Jesus is Bishop Graves’ purpose in life.
“It’s all about winning people to Jesus,” he said. “It’s about seeing the unseen, it’s about transforming lives, and God calls us to change our corner of the world.”
Bishop Graves said he is thankful for the opportunity to serve both conferences and believes God is going to do amazing things with the partnership.
“We have many connections between our two conferences, and God is going to use those to bless both Annual Conferences,” Bishop Bryan said in the video.
“Thanks be to God that the Holy Spirit can build on those connections and we can look forward to continuing to be Alive Together in Christ.”
