Chapel students sign commitment to live, lead by 1 Tim. 4:12

On Wednesday, Sept.17, 55 fourth and fifth grade students made commitments and signed pledges to live their lives by 1 Timothy 4:12 and be leaders in life, love, faith, speech, and purity. Members of The Chapel, a United Methodist congregation in Brunswick, the students make up the church's TLT, or Treehouse Leadership Team. They meet with Paige Madden, The Chapel's children's director, twice each month to learn about what it means to be a servant leader. During the church's weekend worship services, the students are responsible for running tech, worship and The Chapel kid's store.

"It's awesome because this actually allows them a chance to live out what they are learning," Madden said. "We've seen that it's been a super successful tool to help our kids make the transition to youth, too. We are strategic in getting our TLT and our LOG (Leaders of the Greenhouse, our youth leadership team) together so they can make connections and get to know one another. This is one of my favorite parts of my job. I love seeing how The Lord moves in these kids!"
