There’s a meaningful story of a little boy who was raising money in the neighborhood by selling pencils door to door. At one of the houses, an adult asked the boy what he was raising funds for.
“I'm going to raise $6 million and build a hospital in our community,” the youngster replied.
The adult responded, “That's a pretty big task for one little boy, don’t you think?”
“Oh, no sir,” the boy spoke up, “I have a friend who’s helping me.”
Wow! Fantastic! Sensational! Great beginning! No question, there are some friends out there who are helping us. Of course, I am referring to our exciting “New Conference Center” challenge of asking 5,000 South Georgians to each give $100 to enable the South Georgia Conference to have a home. As you know, these gifts can come from individuals, groups, Sunday school classes or churches. It is our hope that 5,000 of us will respond in the near future and that the ground can be broken for the new conference center this year.
As of Monday, May 4, we have raised $41,490.00, which represents 340 distinct donors.
Thank you, South Georgia friends, for what a number of you have already done and for what many more of you will consider doing.
