Encounter retreat will help youth break out of today’s culture and shine a light for Christ

11/7/2016

Encounter, the annual youth retreat sponsored by South Georgia’s Connectional Ministries, will “BREAK OUT” Nov. 18-20 at Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island. The theme will delve deeper into teaching sixth through twelfth grade students how to break out of today’s culture and shine a light for Christ.

Rev. Jonathan Smith, Director of the Wesley Foundation at Georgia Southern University, will be the speaker for Encounter. Jonathan’s ability to reach so many different ages with the truth of the Gospel is evident in his style of speaking.

Gracie Boatright, worship leader for the College of Coastal Georgia’s Wesley Foundation and The Chapel in Brunswick, will share her gifts during each of the worship services. Gracie has been singing since she was a toddler and uses her God-given gift to lead others into a deeper relationship with Christ.

You never know what character is going to show up when Brandon Rushin comes to emcee an event, but you know it will be one that leaves you in stitches! Brandon is a fixture at South Georgia events because of his ability to engage audiences of all ages. His booming presence and full-of-surprises stage time keeps students on the edges of their seats.

Online registration is available through Nov. 9. Churches will register as a group and the cost for this event is $130 per person which includes programming, insurance, food, lodging, and a t-shirt.
