Churches looking for new ideas, networking opportunities and practical, quality training for their pastors, parishioners, staff and leaders need look no further than this year’s Pathways to Discipleship conference.
Scheduled for Saturday, August 17 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Warner Robins, the training event will offer participants nearly 40 workshops, plus three all-day workshops, to choose from, each designed to help congregations become healthier and to fulfill the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.
The training, which starts at 9:45 a.m. and lasts until 3:30 p.m., features workshops on a variety of subjects, from children and youth-focused workshops to spiritual discipline workshops to those focused on ministering to older adults. Classes include “Visionary Leadership,” “Kingdom Evangelism,” and “Captivating People for the Love of Christ,” among many others.
“With a list of nearly 40 workshops, Pathways to Discipleship seeks to impact the leadership of the local church in many ways,” said Rev. Denise Walton, Assistant to the Bishop for Connectional Ministries. “We look forward to this training event and hope to see you there.”
Resources to help promote Pathways in your church can be found atwww.sgaumc.org. The design team urges local church leaders to carpool to the event to minimize travel costs and to maximize the benefits of the day by continuing the learning conversation during the return trip.
To register for the event, visit the website’s Pathways page here. The registration deadline is August 7, and the conference costs $20 per person. A boxed lunch from Chick-fil-A is included in the registration fee.
