ERT Training, Macon – Dec. 12
An Early Response Team (ERT) Training will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Macon. Early Response Team Trainings help equip individuals and teams to respond in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. The cost for the training is $25 per participant. At the training, participants will receive an ERT Training Manual and upon completing the course, will receive an UMCOR ID Badge and a t-shirt. Background checks are required before receiving badges. Buddy Sullivan lecture – Jan. 19, 2016
Local author and historian Buddy Sullivan will lecture at the Moore Methodist Museum at Epworth By The Sea on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. The topic is Life, Labor & Landscape: Ecology as History Along the Georgia Coast. Cost is $20 per person with all proceeds benefitting the Museum and its Ministry of Memory. Tickets may be purchased at the Museum or by calling (912) 638-4050. Seating is limited.

Sexual Ethics Workshop – Jan. 21, 2016

Winter Conference at Epworth By The Sea – Jan. 31-Feb. 3, 2016
Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island will host a winter conference, “Unite,” Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, 2016. The focus is to "Unite" in spiritual formation and worship, bridging barriers of separation to be a greater witness to the world. The conference includes evening worship and morning Bible teaching. Co-leading worship each night will be the Rev. Jay Hanson from the Chapel United Methodist Church and the Rev. David Yarborough from St. Simons Community Church along with their worship teams. The Bible study will be taught by renowned Bible scholar Dr. J. D. Walt, former Chaplain of Asbury Theological Seminary who now serves as the Chief Sower and ultimate visionary behind www.seedbed.com. Two CEU units will be awarded. Join the Journey Confirmation Retreat – March 4-6, 2016
Designed for students in the fifth grade and above, the “Join the Journey” Confirmation Retreat, set for March 4-6, 2016, at  Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island, will provide churches of all sizes an opportunity to connect with others through worship, study, and fellowship. The event will also include large group gatherings around the church seasons and breakout sessions with topics of grace, United Methodist History and United Methodist lingo as well as a “Holy Club” highlight. Not meant to be the only confirmation youth go through, the Confirmation Retreat should be complimentary to what a church is or will be doing.
