"Happiness" is the theme for South Georgia Eagles' fall retreat

The South Georgia Eagles, a group of retired South Georgia United Methodist pastors and spouses, will gather October 29-31, 2012, at Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island, for their annual fall retreat.

Leading several sessions during the retreat on “John Wesley and Happiness” will be retired pastor Dr. Burrell Dinkins, who is also writing a book on the same topic.  A member of the North Georgia Conference, Dr. Dinkins is a former teacher at Asbury Seminary and Oral Roberts University.

Also during the retreat, Bob Hereford will present, “An Encounter with C.S. Lewis and No Nonsense Christianity.”

Other retreat activities include plenty of “get-acquainted” activities, devotionals, free time, a giant puzzle party (to complete the 5,000 piece puzzle begun last year), election of new officers, an installation service and a memorial service honoring those who died during the past year.

There is no registration fee for the Eagles' Retreat.  The expenses are covered through an offering and proceeds from an auction of items brought by those who attend.  Of course you must pay for your room and meals.

There is no registration fee for the Eagles’ Retreat, but participants must register by calling Rev. Dave or Kay Hanson at (912) 634-6384 or by emailing jdavehanson@bellsouth.net. The cost of the retreat is covered by offerings and an auction, held during the retreat. Participants are encouraged to bring homemade items for the auction.  Room and meals are purchased separately through Epworth By The Sea (912-638-8688).
