How South Georgia is supporting East Africa missions and ministries

I am honored to represent South Georgia serving as a director for the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM). During our organizational meeting in October, the suspension of funds to East Africa was discussed and it was again reported that all donations for projects in East Africa continue to be held until such time as sound practices are put into place for the accounting of funds given that would result in the suspension being lifted.

Our Conference established a special partnership years ago with the East Africa Annual Conference in support of the Humble School and other projects, which are supported through The Advance.

Churches have contacted me in light of the news of the suspension with concern for their money to be “active” in ministry as opposed to being held until a future, unknown time. Visiting the GBGM website at provides a list of projects all over the world from which to choose and support in missions.

Our Lane 1 giving for our Three Star Church designation have supported projects in East Africa, and we have currently chosen other Advance projects in Africa (as a recommendation) similar in nature for this giving lane. You will find these below and on our website at

Quessua Mission Boarding School: #11638N

Kamina Orphanage: #14398A

Babyfold @ Old Mature Fairfields Children’s Home: #11713T

Through the building of relationships over the past several years in partnership with East Africa, there are churches and teams in South Georgia who continue to support and visit East Africa in ministry. Please be in prayer that the issues surrounding accountable financial stewardship will be resolved as the needs of these ministries that our giving supported are not on hold.

We will continue to keep you updated.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at or (912) 393-5524.
