Leadership development in the local church

Greetings to you all and Happy New Year!

On Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Office of Connectional Ministries launched the new Leadership Webinar Series. Our goal is to empower leaders within the local church and increase their knowledge base to become more effective in their current leadership role.

So far this month, we’ve hosted a general leadership training session (Leadership Toolkit), a webinar focusing on change and transition within the local church (Leading Change and Transition), training for lay leaders (Lay Leader Training) and training for those who serve on their church’s pastor-parish relations committee or staff-parish relations committee (PPR/SPRC Training).

Two additional webinars are scheduled for January: a Trustees Training on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Finance Training on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Other upcoming webinars include Asset Based Community Development, Twitter 101, Intro to Online Giving and Developing Multicultural Ministries. For dates of webinars, additional information, to review archived webinars and to register, visit www.sgaumc.org/webinars.

The Office of Connectional Ministries would like to thank all of the presenters for sharing their presentations and gifts of time with the members of the annual conference.

This is a creative, innovative way to deliver high quality training without the cost of program expense or travel. Our goal is to have a greater impact in the role of leadership development in the local church.
