The Arthur J. Moore Methodist Museum, located on the grounds of Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island, has recently hired a new director and assistant director.
New Museum Director Anne Packard, a St. Simons Island resident, previously served at the Office of Connectional Ministries. She brings 20 years of management experience and a love of history – dating back to her years at the University of Georgia where she minored in history – to her new role.
An active member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica on St. Simons Island, Packard serves with the church’s children’s and youth ministries. She also led the island's popular Tour of Homes for three years.
In her new role, Packard plans to keep the museum’s tradition of hospitality and informative exhibits while ensuring that it stays current and relevant.
Nancy Jenkins, the museum’s new assistant director, has a background in Library Science and has been involved in multiple projects with the Coastal Georgia Historical Society, including cataloging the reference library, conducting tours and serving as interim volunteer coordinator. She has also been active in Friends of the Methodist Heritage of the South Georgia Conference, serving as secretary, treasurer and vice president. Nancy has been an active member of St. Simons United Methodist Church for more than 20 years, serving most recently as UMW Circle President and UMW Board Treasurer.
