News from the muse

Installation will soon begin on a new exhibit in the Arthur J. Moore Methodist Museum’s Strickland Wing.

The first room will be dedicated to the blessings and accomplishments bestowed on the South Georgia Conference by its Bishops. Included in the exhibit are staffs, vestments, and many pieces from the Arthur J. Moore collection, including his desk.

Remembering Bishop Moore is vital to this new exhibit, in part because he played a key role in securing the land where the museum and Epworth By The Sea now reside.

St. Augustine designer Jody Marcil, who was instrumental in the design and installation of the museum’s Women’s Exhibit, is helping bring this new exhibit to life.

“We hope to have it fully installed for the December 4 Friends of the Museum business meeting,” said Director Anne Packard. “Please stop by your museum and archives when you are in the area. We’d love to show you around.”
