News from the Muse: Bishop's Room exhibit opened

On Thursday, Dec. 4, the annual meeting of the Friends of Methodist Heritage was held at the Moore Methodist Museum.

Bishop James King and Mrs. King gathered with supporters to discuss all that has been accomplished in 2014 and all that is planned for 2015. The highlight of the evening was the opening of a new exhibit dedicated to the work and ministry of the bishops of the South Georgia Conference.

This collection includes vestments and stoles worn by the bishops, handmade croziers and canes, liturgical jewelry belonging to Bishop William R Cannon’s collection, and artifacts dating to the early 20th century from Bishop Moore’s collection and Bishop James E Dickey’s collection.

This is a permanent exhibit to be housed at the Moore Methodist Museum located on the campus of Epworth by the Sea. Operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
