The Conference Transition Team has released their report to the 2014 South Georgia Annual Conference.
The entire 36-page report can be found online at www.sgaumc.org/transition.
The report contains information from work done during the past three years by three task force teams in response to the 2013 Annual Conference’s vote to reduce the number of districts from nine to six.
It also includes a letter from Bishop James King, the new six-district map, a six district church list, and a report from the Conference’s Enhanced Technology Team.
The report outlines how the new six districts will form and take shape, how they will function, and how each will continue in their disciple-making mission.
“Beautiful people, we are on the verge of something wonderful and transforming which is taking place in the South Georgia Annual Conference,” Bishop King said in the report’s opening letter. “Allow your prayer time and conversations with those who love the Lord to ease your anxiety about the changes before us. Our new way forward is biblical and Wesleyan. When we have lived into this transition we will be more connected, more focused, and more accountable as we work together to grow a Christlike world.”
