This 30-minute training for local church volunteers working with children, youth, and vulnerable adults covers the basics of Safe Sanctuaries and why it’s important for your local church to implement it. In your local setting, you will find it is easier to follow directives and put boundaries in place if you understand why it is necessary. Presented by: Allison Lindsey and Suzanne Akins (Connectional Ministries) with Annie Paulk (Nurture Team).
**NEW for 2021: We now have the option for volunteers to take the Safe Sanctuaries 101: Basic Volunteer Training as an online course. This allows volunteers to complete the course on their own time and then print out a completion certificate to take back to their local church.
If you are the staff person or coordinator for children and youth at your local church, you can email your volunteers this link (www.sgaumc.org/online-training) to register themselves or you can provide a list of participants you want signed up for the online training to kelly@sgaumc.com.
This informative webinar seeks to help churches begin the conversations around the use of technology both as individuals and how we represent ourselves and issues that churches need to think about as they engage in the different types of technology.
